ocr: LIFT AIR FLOW AIRFOIL - - - - - - NL - 0010 - - - o - r - - LIFT Wings produce a force called lift that overcomes the weight ofthe airplane. Most wings have a shape called an airfoil that moves through the air at a slight angle. Air moves faster over the wing than underneath it. Because fast-moving air exerts less pressure than slow-moving air, the pressure above the wing 1S reduced. This pressure difference causes lift.
